SOMA! Mission: To inspire young readers below grade level to improve reading performance and develop a limitless imagination.

Welcome: Thank you for visiting the SOMA! reading program in northeast Columbus. Now in it’s third year the program serves second and third grade students at Linden STEM Academy with plans to expand in the future.  Volunteers are the driving force behind SOMA! and commit to meet with a student once week for one hour during the school day.

Students thrive from the quality time spent with an adult volunteer and make significant reading improvements throughout the year. There’s no greater reward than service and volunteers continue to return year after year as they’ve built a relationship with the same student.

SOMA! works with college students, churches, concerned citizens and caring individuals that desire a meaningful tutoring experience. The program is currently operated by Sanctuary Columbus Church, a new faith community in Columbus.
